Henna Medium
The Henna Medium, Tamara Brown, has been an artist from an early age. While attending Ohio University to study photography, she found the medium of henna. She became intrigued by the symbolism used in so many cultures, all connected to this plant, and by the art form that was a millennia-old, chiefly female, tradition. The self taught hobby begun in 1997 turned professional in 2002, which flourished upon moving to California in 2009. Tamara began attending and taught at HennaCon, a conference aimed at professional and artistic development within the henna community.
On the spiritual side, Tamara's psychic wake-up at 19 years old opened the gates to energetic exploration that still continues today. She became a Reiki Master in 2005 and began to add the energy healing technique to henna designs and potent symbolism, drawing while transmitting Reiki. This evolved over time, while working with the plant medicine combining body art, symbolism, energy work, and opening to channeled messages and guidance. This became the modality Ceremonial Henna Readings, which she created to work with clients in Southern California and beyond.
